Adam Holzman brings together an unusual combination of musical skills. Aside from being an accomplished and well known keyboard player (well versed in all contemporary styles), Adam has a solid background in synthesizer programming, sampling, sound creation and sound design. He has also studied classical piano and composition for many years with the great Abby Fraser. Plus, he has worked in a wide variety of situations, from producing music for Certs to co-composing Hollywood film scores like "Street Smart," as well as scoring industrials and educational videos.
Adam just won
"Best Boxed Set Re-issue of the Year" from the Jazz Journalists Association Jazz Awards for his production work, with Bob Belden, on the Miles Davis album "The Cellar Door Sessions" on Columbia/Legacy.
Growing up in the music business gave Adam an understanding of the technological side of music; having been around recording studios from a very young age, Adam has an intuitive understanding of how to produce great recordings. Over the years Adam has worked closely with some of the world's most renowned producers, such as Bob Power, Tommy LiPuma, Paul Rothchild, Bruce Botnick, Teo Macero, Marcus Miller and Bob Belden. He also has years of apprenticeship working at the foot of musical masters such as Miles Davis and Wayne Shorter. This combination of talent and experience is rare.
All of Adam's scores contain only original music. No 'garage band' sound bites and riffs, only 'handmade' tracks built from the ground up, containing all-original drum beats, loops, grooves and sounds created by Adam.
