Adam Holzman & Brave New World is quite likely one of the best instrumental jazz-rock bands around. A consistent concert draw since the mid 90's, Adam Holzman & Brave New World has proven to be one of the more enduring and consistent of the current electric jazz groups. Since its debut at the Saratoga Jazz Festival in 1993, they have continued to excite audiences in the US and Europe with their high energy performances and their fresh take on the jazz=funk equation. Adam Holzman & Brave New World have completed eight successful European tours and have performed in the U.S. at the Saratoga Jazz festival (1993 &1998), Symphony Space's Wall-to-Wall Miles tribute, special university concerts including the New School University, and numerous concerts and gigs in the New York City area. They have also done special workshop/clinics at music schools in Graz, Austria and Hannover, Germany.

Adam Holzman & Brave New World have released six studio albums, all of which have received critical acclaim, and a collection of live 'bootleg' CDs, the "Alive Series." A new recording project is in the planning stages.

Brave New World has a unique musical lineage. Formed by keyboard player Adam Holzman, an alumnus of the Miles Davis Band and the son of Elektra Records founder and visionary Jac Holzman. Adam's background is unusual; after growing up around bands like The Doors and Love, Adam gravitated towards jazz and classical piano, fusion, prog rock and R&B (for Adam's bio and discography click here).

Adam met bass player Freddy Cash Jr. in New York in the early 90's while playing in the group No Soap Radio, (a fun band which also included Jane Getter and Rocky Bryant). Freddy is the son of Freddy Cash, one of the original Impressions. Freddy grew up hanging out with Curtis Mayfield and other musical legends from the Chicago scene. Over the years he's played with everybody from Jean Paul Bourelly and Arrested Development to Toshi Regan, Martha Redbone, India Arie and many others.

Aaron Heick is widely known for being one of the most versatile and talented sax players this side of Alpha Centauri. Adam met Aaron when they played together in Chaka Khan's band, from 1992-1994. He has played with everyone else since then, including Barbra Streisand and Jim Beard, and toured for many years with Richard Bona. Both Freddy and Aaron have been with Brave New World since the beginning (of time).

Guitarist Mitch Stein is a colleague of Adam's from the East Village Jazz/Rock Coalition days. Mitch has played with David Sanborn, Steve Kimmock, Tania Maria and Jim Weider, and leads his own killer power trio, The Hermanators. Mitch joined Brave New World in 1994, just in time for their First Monumental European Tour.

Brave New world's newest member is drummer, Abe Fogle. Abe has played with many great artists, including Rob Thomas (from Matchbox 20), Alex Bugnon, Najee and a bunch of others. Adam first met Abe a long time ago playing together on a European tour with saxophonist Kenny Garrett's group. They re-connected in October, 2007 and Abe toured with band that fall.
